UNIC Tokyo Director Kaoru Nemoto held a lecture on the UN’s TOGETHER initiative, hosted by the cultural exchange department at Dokkyo University on 8 June.  The lecture was not only intended for students with an aspiration to work for an international organization but also for students, educators and the public with a desire to learn about migration and refugees in today’s context.

Furthermore, it highlighted the purpose and role of the TOGETHER campaign both on a global and domestic scale. As World Refugee Day on 20 June approaches, Director Nemoto implored the attendees to embrace the spirit of the TOGETHER initiative. Dokkyo University students have launched the Facebook page “Dokkyo Together” not only to show their commitment to the initiative but also to spread awareness to the younger generation of Japan through the power of social networking.
